I fell in love with a fat baby.

Many of you who know me well know that I am not a fan of babies and small children. I'm just really not. A year ago tomorrow there was this fat baby brought into the world. And he ate and pooped and cried. A lot. I deemed him "It" and that has been his name ever since (with approval from his mother of course). It cries. It pinches. It gets into everything. And I love it to death. Especially tonight when he did not do any of those three things. It is no longer fat and has a lovely shade of brownish red hair. And It is my favorite. I still don't love other babies. But it and I are pals. Secretively of course.

time goes by

It's strange how time works. . . How you wake up one morning and you're no longer a scrawny freckle nosed git. (Character reference?) Sometimes periods of life are like going to the theater to see a movie. You're excited to go because you know it will be fun and enjoyable but at the same time they've started charging 10 bucks just to see a movie. Then there are the other little prices of nasty popcorn and soda and delicious candy. So the movie starts and it's interesting and intriguing and then you reach that last Mike and Ike in the bottom of your candy box and the lemonade starts tasting like lemony ice water. But the ending is still a ways away and you're not going to bail because it's a good movie and you're truly interested so you wait until the incredible ending. And there are those endings of movies that simply stop. Like in Remember Me. It's drama drama drama drama . . . . . and then BAM! you're hit with something totally new and it all makes sense and you cry because just maybe you connected to the character and story line more than you thought you would and it all ended so beautifully even if it was a little bit abrupt and unexpected. And all of this plus more happens during simple movie. A MOVIE! Just think about life. How much more complicated it is and how much more time plays part in it's pieces. Time may move slowly. It may move quickly. But the thing is, it will always moves. It never stops and one morning you wake up someone completely different in a new world with your jaw hanging open. Or it could be quite the opposite. That you're still the same person in the same place with the same people. And maybe that's okay. Maybe it's not. But time..... it's an odd thing.
