Good vibes

This morning I was awaken to the voice of my Brianna informing me that today is going to be a good day 'cause there are good vibes in the air. I must say I agree. Starting out a day with that thought in your mind is the best.

Today I will be avoiding all educational responsibilities and cleaning my living room and setting up my Christmas tree and probably throwing in my new copy of The Proposal or Harry Potter #6. I am uber excited.

This is the picture I have as my desktop right now. Look familiar? Yes it's one I took on Portabello Road. I'm definitely in love with it and every time I open my laptop I smile.
This is the dress that I am completely tempted to buy. I don't know where I would wear it but it is absolutely gorgeous in my mind.

Have a GOOD VIBE day

The beginning of the new me

Once upon a time....... I rode a public bus to school. Oh wait, like that's new. Well see this lovely blonde girl on the bus? Yeah.... she is my new hero and inspiration.
She wants to be a singer and a model and in her mind, it's gonna happen. Well me too. Minus the singing and modeling (although I wouldn't mind keeping either.) I am going to be who I want to be because ya know what? It can happen.

My first radical change was dyeing my hair dark brown. My entire life I have been a blonde and as tempted as I have been to dye my hair, I have been strictly against it. Last week, I threw my rules out the window and did what I really wanted. My lovely friend Brianna dyed my hairs for me with occasional instruction from her awesome roommate Sarah.
Do you see that expression on her face? That is BRianna screaming, "YES!!!! REVENGE!"
I was definitely freaking out that we were going to run out of dye and my hair would turn out retarded.
Apparently hand sanitizer removes hair dye from your skin. Well, mostly.
After dyeing my hair Brianna claimed the privilege of also styling my hair. I accepted. Yes I entrusted Brianna to both dyeing and styling my hair and I must admit.... She did a pretty fabulous job.
riskayWhile I was waiting for my hair to be done I read one of Sarah's magazines and gained a bit of knowledge.
This is apparently what I looked like when I first saw my hair. Just darling.
Most people would see this picture and think.... oh they're giving each other a hug. Actually we were trying to kill each other. Believe it.
So after all of my freaking out and indecisiveness I ended up with lovely dark brown hair that I love although since it's supposedly temporary it is beginning to turn blonde again. Perhaps I will make it a bit more permanent though. However, that is yet to be decided.

How I love Westwood Choir Concerts

Before I blog about the amazing Westwood choir concert let me throw out a few previous events

First off a couple weeks ago I got gelato and went swimming with some of my besties. It was amazing fun and a much needed break from school.

Here is one reason I love Brianna. I mean, just look at her.
Yeah.... love.
Then..... the next day when I got home from school I saw this black line on one of the walls at me house and thought.... what the heck!!!! It was ants. Hundreds of ants. It's probably not a good idea to leave out an open package of cookies. I spent half an hour squishing those little beasts.
The next day I was informed that we were going out to get wings. Well as some of you may know, I don't really like wings so I just got a smoothie instead. But here.... don't you want to see Brianna eating her amazingly salty sandwich?
But the most exciting news..... I got to go to the first Westwood High School choir concert of the year. I cannot even tell you how much I love those things. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
There was a slight distraction though during the concert which Tabitha so kindly pointed out to me. Do you see the smudge on the back of Mr. Harris' pant leg. Yes right there in the middle of his left (my left.... and probably yours too) pant leg.
Well since it was the first choir concert, it was also the feeder concert with the little junior highs squeaking their songs to us. But look who we found?! Randall Shreeve! No joke do you see that kid in the back row?
Oh so here is my racist comment that I have been dying to say. See the Powell women's choir? All of those BROWN girls? But of course! It's Powell.
But lookey here....... A white girl! One. Only one. In the entire choir. Just makes me laugh.
Here is Senor Harris doing one of his little speeches. Notice where he is standing. Exactly in the middle of the stage. (Well, duh. He is the conductor.) But guess who I cannot see? My LOML. That is right. Mr. Harris stood between my LOML and I for pretty much the entire concert. I think that is completely unfair.
HEre is my LOML though. Don't worry. He is in the back row in the middle. Exactly where I would stand if I was in choir again this year. Shucks.
See the drummer on the left next to Ryan Stock? Yes that is Alex Hammrick. I almost passed out when I saw his name on the program. I was like ..... Alex?!!!! What!? This kid lived across the street from me for the majority of my childhood. I used to wake up to him playing his drums all the way across the street. Yes he is now grown up and emo looking and playing drums and singing in my Honor Choir. I think this should be marked as a tender moment.
And of course the concert ended with Honor Choir, and all us freaks that come back to watch, holding hands and singing Lonesome Road. Favorite moments of my life. I would just like to say though that it should NOT have a solo in it. I mean, Ryan Stock has a lovely voice but that is just not a song that should have a solo when it is being sung by WW Honor Choir.

Here is a link to some idiots singing the song. I think it sounds horrible but for the limited time I took to look at YouTube videos this was the best I could find.

This is Tabitha. Despues (after for you non Spanish idiots. ) de the concert I got bored and took pictures of her. Yes. Pictures. As you are about to witness, I was bored for a while.

Yeah I know. Pathetic. And I didn't even upload all of them. So then I switched over to stalking my LOML again. So cute isn't he? And only 12 years old!
Later that night when I was suddenly wide awake I did tons of homework and curled my hair. Bam baby curlers are hot.
So um I don't usually upload videos but these I could not resist posting. The first one is my LOML. Just laugh.

The second one is one of the cutest things I have seen in a long time. In the middle of the boys is a guy named John. He is one of my favorite people. Just appreciate him.

Beaver High Adventure Base

So.... I have spent a long time writing and editing posts from Utah and all that happened this summer. I have finally come to the conclusion that it is simply not something I can write a blog about. I absolutely love working up in Beaver at the scout camp. It is my home. There is no other place where I feel so much at home or am so absolutely happy. I fall in love every day. With the people, the land, my life, the world... It is where I truly find myself dreaming in reality.

Road Trip!

This past weekend (well 2 weekends ago now) Brianna and I ............. went on a road trip up to Cedar City Utah! Experience of a lifetime. If you want to loose your sanity-- plan a long trip where you just sit in a car for hours and hours and hours and hours while listening to the same music over and over and over and over again while eating tons and tons and tons and tons of junk food. I mean, look at us. This is only 3 hours into the trip and we already look a bit more freaky than usual.
So we went on this lovely trip so that I could visit beautiful Cedar and GeOFF and my other palios from camp except I failed because I did not go to see my other friends really.

See these lovely sunglasses? Yes they are Brianna's because I'm not sure I would buy anything so.... Brianna like. Boredom encourages you to do stupid things so I ended up wearing Brianna's sunglasses for a good part of the trip even though it was pitch dark outside. They do help with blinding headlights though.
Another sign of boredom. I began to take random abstract pictures. Yep. I was glad to get out of that car. Really though....... the drive wasn't even bad at all. It seemed really short and quite honestly I wouldn't mind doing it every weekend.
Um one of the nights there we played games. I absolutely love games. I cannot even tell you how content I would be to just sit and play games for a living. Funny story: we were playing Scattergories? (I think) and got a letter O. One of the categories was American president and for the life of me I could not think of a president whose name started with the letter O. Neither could Geoff or Brianna. Then it was Casey's turn to read his answer. Obama. Imagine that.
On the way home through Cedar Canyon (now one of my more favorite places in the world) we stopped at a pull out and looked at Navajo Lake. BEAUTIFUL.
Another car pulled up and both of the people had cameras so naturally I thought, hey here are some people that will be capable of taking a picture for us. So I handed the lady my camera and asked her to take a pic. I discovered shortly after that she most likely did not speak English and I am still trying to figure out why she had a camera because she was obviously an amateur.
We also stopped at this other rest stop where Brianna announced that we would be hiking up this trail in dresses and sandals. Go Brianna.
She showed me this sandstone with names carved in it (including her initials) and I added mine too above hers.
Well, just an A actually.
On the way back Brianna got stuck on a tree. I freaking love her expression.
WE were really hungry. And bored. Imagine that.
I slid down a rail for the first time in my life! So much amazing fun.
Brianna had fun too. I think. Yes. Definitely.
Brianna had to stop and pee again so I took pictures of beautiful Arizona. Yes, I did say beautiful. I'm still trying to completely convince myself.
And my shadow. How nice.
And when I got home..... guess what I found?! I had just dyed my hair a couple of days before we left and there was a love telling me that it loves me. So absolutely tender.
The end. Ya didn't really get any pictures while we were actually in CEdar. Oh well. Great weekend. Once again I was happy. And news flash-- Brianna and I finally realized that we're adults. Wow.
