I fell in love with a fat baby.

Many of you who know me well know that I am not a fan of babies and small children. I'm just really not. A year ago tomorrow there was this fat baby brought into the world. And he ate and pooped and cried. A lot. I deemed him "It" and that has been his name ever since (with approval from his mother of course). It cries. It pinches. It gets into everything. And I love it to death. Especially tonight when he did not do any of those three things. It is no longer fat and has a lovely shade of brownish red hair. And It is my favorite. I still don't love other babies. But it and I are pals. Secretively of course.

time goes by

It's strange how time works. . . How you wake up one morning and you're no longer a scrawny freckle nosed git. (Character reference?) Sometimes periods of life are like going to the theater to see a movie. You're excited to go because you know it will be fun and enjoyable but at the same time they've started charging 10 bucks just to see a movie. Then there are the other little prices of nasty popcorn and soda and delicious candy. So the movie starts and it's interesting and intriguing and then you reach that last Mike and Ike in the bottom of your candy box and the lemonade starts tasting like lemony ice water. But the ending is still a ways away and you're not going to bail because it's a good movie and you're truly interested so you wait until the incredible ending. And there are those endings of movies that simply stop. Like in Remember Me. It's drama drama drama drama . . . . . and then BAM! you're hit with something totally new and it all makes sense and you cry because just maybe you connected to the character and story line more than you thought you would and it all ended so beautifully even if it was a little bit abrupt and unexpected. And all of this plus more happens during simple movie. A MOVIE! Just think about life. How much more complicated it is and how much more time plays part in it's pieces. Time may move slowly. It may move quickly. But the thing is, it will always moves. It never stops and one morning you wake up someone completely different in a new world with your jaw hanging open. Or it could be quite the opposite. That you're still the same person in the same place with the same people. And maybe that's okay. Maybe it's not. But time..... it's an odd thing.

Jigsaw puzzles

One of my absolute favorite things to do are Thomas Kinkade jigsaw puzzles. Jigsaw puzzles are fun but Thomas Kinkade puzzles are even better. Why? Because they are one blur of color. I never look at the pictures that I am putting together. I merely begin sorting pieces. Once each pile of a certain design has been gathered, I mindlessly begin putting them back together. Most people find this absolutely pointless but there is a certain ease of mind that I get from doing this and those few hours of a calm mind sometimes feel absolutely wonderful.

So why am I talking about puzzles? Because today is a puzzle kind of day. I awoke straight into reality without those few beautiful minutes after you wake up to ease myself into the day. Most of my day will be filled with information being poured into my head and demands being shouted at me so a couple hours of silent mulling over the thoughts in my head sound absolutely glorious.

A life according to fiction.

Once upon a time....

there was a young girl.. wait.... no, a young woman....... who fell in love.... out of love...... in love ..... out of love..... in love..... and she met her Edward........ and she met her Jacob..... and just for the heck of it she met 87 munchkins too.......  but of course she would never be relating her life to Twilight ..... because that would be sad and pathetic....... which was her 5 years previous........ and life was good...... life was really good....... and then Edward was hit by a bus....... which was terribly sad......... but what could this girl do?.... trying to intervene would only break more bones........ so she ran away....... far far away to a magical place where the sun always shines.... and the moon always glows............. but eventually the trees grow taller........ and distract the choirs of relief........ so dead babies are eaten........ and rear ends are fried......... and Jacob treads softly in the background......... listening and deciding...... observing and waiting....... then the girl goes fishing........ unsure of what to catch...... and gets a bite........ a bite of sugar free shaved ice........ and Edward really only rode the bus........ to a place far far away....... where the fairies and sprites sing songs of joy........ and Jacob is so close......... but not nearly close enough....... and the girl jumps off a cliff...... sinking...sinking.....sinking...... into the igneous sand...... and sits there..... on the bottom........ like a mermaid...... waiting for the waves to find their direction.... reading fiction......... wondering that Edward wins in the end......... he has power...... and strength to be different....... but then she thinks....... about Jacob..... and her brown hair decorated laundry...... and what he is doing among the t-shirts of history..... and breathes in as she waits for the waves to decide.

And some chapters later.... after the tragedy and the comedy and the romance and the adventure.... she lives happily ever after.

Inspirational Poem haha

Time is a scenery.
No matter how long,
you look at it,
it's just not,
going to change.

Words are words.
Sometimes,
you just have to take action.

Love is a window.
So stop staring at it,
and open it.
Cause it's not going to open by itself.

Anger is a door.
Don't fear it, lock it,
and swallow the key.

Life is a wheel.
Sometimes,
you roll over mud and rocks,
And sometimes,
you go over rainbows,

But most importantly,
You are you.
And I know you are wise enough,
To tell the difference,

And sometimes,
you just have to chill,
And Get Over It.

I'm not sure what to think about all the odd punctuation and simple lines but I think it has a point to be learned. And that is the point that my mind would like to scream to the world right now. Every line of this poem. So there.

Who knew not all cats are dumb?

I've never liked Alice in Wonderland. My interactions with the story as a child always left me confused and thinking Carroll is a freak. But this famous quote from the story has been on my mind a lot lately.

Alice: Oh, no, no. I was just wondering if you could help me find my way. Cheshire Cat: Well that depends on where you want to get to. Alice: Oh, it really doesn't matter, as long as... Cheshire Cat: Then it really doesn't matter which way you go.

One of the biggest problems in life is not knowing where exactly you want to go. It's not as simple as sitting down one day and picking out a choice on a list. No. That would be much too simple. Life is a never ending drama in which you can either decide where you want to go or let yourself float upon a current leading you to an unplanned decision.

But wait... even when you plan, life leads you to unplanned decisions. You build your dreams and hopes upon a certain focal point and sometimes everything works out and sometimes your world explodes not even leaving pieces to meagerly glue back together. So what do you do? You start over again. Do your best to hit a reset button. . . Take a deep breath.... and try again knowing that the exact same thing could happen all over again. Why? Because that's what you're here for. That's what makes each breath worth taking... the hope of triumph. The vision of success. The feeling of joy. The knowledge that you could have everything you dreamed of. The idea that you could be viewed by others and pass their judgements. The thought of looking in the mirror one morning and knowing exactly who you are, what you want, and being proud of yourself for what you have done.

Things happen for a reason. Why? No one knows. And with that in mind, don't beat yourself up trying to figure out that reason or place blame or glory on something/someone. The fact is that it happened. For good or for bad. But it is the past. So no worries. Chillax. You're now looking at the future.

Who do you want to be? What do you want to see when you look in the mirror each morning? And what are you going to do? Because the drama cycle will never end but that's why there is so much time. So that you can work towards finding something that will fit into that missing jigsaw piece. No matter how much you try to wedge the wrong piece in the slot it will still never fit so you might as well start on something else.

Is there somewhere you want to go? Wandering aimlessly isn't getting anyone very far.

So take my advice:

(Actually advice stolen from someone else)

Make each day your masterpiece.
